Women in Data is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing diversity in data-related careers. To this goal, they organize networking events, talks on data science topics and career advice, and a residency program for aspiring data scientists with partner companies like IBM and KPMG.
WiD was founded in 2015 in Sacramento, California, and has since extended internationally, now having Chapters (groups) in 20 other locations around the world.
On May 14th, I attended the kick-off virtual meetup of the Berlin Chapter, founded and led by Mina Saidze. It was exciting to meet 20 other women with different educational backgrounds, work experiences, and specializations – but all passionate about data applications and oriented towards a career in data science. Getting involved in the WiD community is a great opportunity to connect with like-minded people, learn new skills, and advance one’s career – possible even during a pandemic lockdown!
Looking forward to the upcoming events!
